I am going to say something now that will upset some people and their beliefs, but it’s true nonetheless:
“AFRICA COLONIZED THE WORLD. All of our species traveled from Africa. (Some returned a little later on boats and with an ego, but still, even Europeans come from Africa).”

Seven countries now generate 100 % of their electricity from renewable energy. 188 to go!
In recent months, the world installed 116 gigawatts of new wind power capacity, according to the latest Global Wind Report from industry trade association the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC).
Adumo (https://www.adumo.com/) has announced it is going to be sold to Lesaka for $86 million. If you do not know about this business, they are a Multi-Channel Payment Solutions & Card Machines company in South Africa. Lesaka Technologies is a fintech company also based in SA. They are a provider of secure and affordable transaction channels between formal business and unbanked and underbanked individuals. It’s interesting to see movement in this space.

Ghana will have the first government in Africa to use Blockchain Technology to Combat Corruption! I really wish South Africa could have made this announcement! Learn more here:

South Africa has launched a military-focused AI hub. My questions:
- Have we skipped other priorities? How about AI to deal with data and corruption? How about AI to deal with our housing, water, or power crises?
- Is the problem with AI not the computer, but the human?

Google is in the business of transport! Waymo says its robotaxis are now driving up to 50,000 paid trips every week between Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

The Swiss start-up Climeworks (https://climeworks.com/) has opened the world’s largest carbon capture plant in Iceland. The plant’s name is Mammoth and has 72 industrial fans that can pull in 36 000 tons of CO2 from the air each year. The CO2 is stored underground and eventually trapped in stone, which permanently removes it from the ‘general environment’.
South Africa emits around 470 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. We generate more than any other country on the continent.
Advocate and Professor Thuli Madonsela said to me the other day while we were driving to a client obligation, “JP, you should study law.” The truth is you don’t need to be a lawyer to practice justice. For those of you who are following the matter, I am pursuing a ‘regulatory review’ of the business practices of www.hellopeter.com.
There are three ‘entities’ / ‘regulators’ I have approached and shared my concerns with. I believe that businesses like Hellopeter.com can add value, but the business model does not serve the public (without detriment) nor do I believe it operates within certain regulations/laws.
I have tried to engage with their management team for some time now, and I have finally got a reply from their lawyer! I’ll offer another update of substance in the future.
