Social Media and Online Behavior (E-Ethics)

WHAT DO I COVER IN A KEYNOTE TALK ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA AND ONLINE BEHAVIOR & E-ETHICS?

These are such important subjects for both home and office because there is so much to learn regarding our online safety in business and for our family at home. A keynote talk needs to be customized based on the audience, but for Social Media, Online Behavior, and E-Ethics, I could cover a variety of subjects such as:

The Evolution of Social Media, which serves as a nice opening to the talk and lays a foundation. Some insight into the historical context and growth of social media platforms provides great context and will help guests understand just how far we have come in such a short time and why the impact of social media on communication and society has been, and will continue to increase in severity.

We could take a look at general Online Behavior Trends, analyzing how users engage with social media and the psychology behind online interactions and behaviors.

We could discuss our Digital Footprint and Privacy matters, learning about and understanding our digital footprints and data trails, as well as the importance of privacy settings and managing personal data.

I always like to include a section about Cyberbullying and Online Harassment within a keynote talk. I can define cyberbullying and its implications and share strategies for prevention and response based on the audience listening to my talk.

Something else important to touch on is the trend of Misinformation and Fake News. The spread of misinformation through social media has a massive impact. Critical thinking and media literacy skills for combating false information are things we all need to work on moving forward.

Social Media and Mental Health is a very important subject to cover in the workplace. The impact of social media on self-esteem and mental health can take a real toll, and I discuss the importance of balancing social media usage for better well-being, not only at home but also in the workplace.

A client might ask me to discuss E-Ethics and Responsibility. I can cover ethical considerations in digital communication and behavior, as well as the role of influencers and corporations in promoting ethical standards. In many ways, we are all influencers and consumers.

Something fun to perhaps discuss is the Future Trends in Social Media. I can offer some predictions for the future of social media and online interactions, as well as cover some emerging technologies and their potential impact on online behavior.

On a more serious note, Regulations and Policies are topics that should be addressed specifically for businesses. An overview of existing regulations and their effectiveness is a good introduction, and the role of policymakers in shaping the digital landscape can also provide helpful context.

I normally like to end my talk on these subjects with a call to action and the importance of Building Positive Online Communities. We can cover some strategies for fostering respectful and inclusive online spaces, as well as the importance of community guidelines and user moderation both at home and in the office.
